We are currently working with a leading manufacturer in the chemical industry to recruit an experienced Process Technician for their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the production process while ensuring product quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture products according to the relevant Production Record Sheets, completing any necessary in-process testing.
  • Oversee the receipt and inspection of raw materials and packaging, ensuring they meet quality standards and are stored appropriately.
  • Support the Team Leader by acting as a key point of contact for colleagues, other Team Leaders, and management during the shift.
  • Ensure the weekly production plan is adhered to, with all targets met and production demands satisfied.
  • Work closely with the Logistics team to manage raw materials and packaging, ensuring a seamless flow of production.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts in your area of expertise and support the introduction of new products and plant modifications.
  • Ensure finished products are packaged according to customer specifications and ready for transportation.
  • Adhere to all company and statutory Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements at all times.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks and troubleshoot issues with equipment as required.
  • In the absence of the Team Leader, ensure a thorough handover to the next shift, assist with incident investigations, and provide support with colleague training.
  • Take ownership of shift team performance and ensure operations run smoothly throughout your shift.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in operating chemical plant equipment for the manufacturing of products, including chemical reactions and blending processes.
  • Advanced understanding of at least one major plant process or similar industrial process.
  • A strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
  • Experience in working to high operational standards and ensuring compliance with procedures.
  • A genuine desire to train, develop, and mentor colleagues.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to solve problems and manage tasks effectively.
  • Numerate, with the ability to interpret and report on production data.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with a high level of personal integrity.
  • Basic experience with laboratory testing, including pH and viscosity testing.
  • Forklift truck training and certification is required.
