Business Development Manager

Company: Engineering firm specialising in the design, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage sub-station protection and control equipment.

Location: This role is Remote with very occasional visits to the Clients Northern office and new office opening in the midlands
Salary: £60,000 per annum + commission and bonus package

Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the business from its current level to the next level as outlined in our five-year financial plan. This role will particularly focus on non-core business development, aligning sales objectives with the company's business growth plan and strategy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, introducing new products, accessing new geographies, and ensuring overall business impact in terms of order, sales, and profit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop new business, new products, and new geographies, including the development of new customers, accounts, and sales channels.
• Assist in technical selling to utilities, industries, renewable energy, railway applications, or any other end-user segments for non-core products.
• Promote engineering service offerings to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, and end-users such as utilities, industries, renewable power plants, and railway applications in protection, control, and switch gear engineering.
• Meet assigned marketing key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard metrics and continuously improve non-core business strategies.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with senior managers, customers, channel partners, agents, and prospects.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Contracts, Projects, and Engineering to ensure timely order execution, customer coordination, and contract closure for non-core orders.
• Develop effective communication models and growth program review mechanisms at operating levels with the UK and India teams to drive synergy in business operations.
• Improve customer response and success rates in converting leads into equity and inquiries into orders.
• Enhance lead generation through proactive sales, marketing, and business development activities.
• Expand market reach in domestic and international markets.
• Develop new customer relations and promote joint interests of India and the UK entities of the company.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering is ideal
• Experience in the Control, Protection and Automation industry is preferred but not essential
• Proven capability for developing new business in the UK Transmission & Distribution market is Essential

Pay: £60,000.00-£60,500.00 per year

Experience:

• Electrical engineering Sales: 5 years (preferred)
• Electrical Transmission and Distribution Sales: 2 years (required)
